Ritornello is a one-person operation, and every message reaches the person who wrote the app. If something is wrong, saying so is genuinely useful.

Tell me what you were doing, what you expected, and what happened instead. If a file was involved, attaching it helps more than anything — most of the bugs found so far were found by opening a real export from a real app.
Open the app and there is a form already there. Change the bar counts until it matches a song you know, press Play, and listen to the proportions. Nothing is attached and nothing needs to be — hearing the shape with only a click is the point.
The 1–5 dots on each section are what you think the intensity is. The app never sets them and never infers them from the notes, because it cannot hear anything. They are what makes the contrast and arc checks possible, and they are the reason those checks are about your song rather than about a file.
Press Attach… on any section and pick a MusicXML (.xml)
or MIDI (.mid) file. Every Songdeed app exports both. A section can
hold several files at once — chords, a bassline and a groove all sound
together in the same bars — and each one gets its own row with its own
× to remove it.
Because the file does not have one. MIDI carries no key signature at all, so a MIDI part is laid out exactly as written rather than transposed to the section's key. If you want it moved, set the section's key to the key the part was written in, or export it as MusicXML instead, which does carry a signature.
Contrapunctus and Filigree currently write an empty key signature whatever key
the music is in, so a 0 from them means "unknown", not "C major".
Transposing on that basis would move the part by the wrong interval —
confidently, with a report saying it worked — so the app declines and says
why. Mediant and Continuo write a real signature and their parts transpose
normally.
Ritornello writes .xml, which every importer accepts. If a picker
greys a file out, it is matching on the extension before it opens the file —
so the fix is the name, not the contents. If you have renamed an export to
.musicxml, some importers will refuse it on sight.
Each export writes a file and then opens the iOS share sheet, from which you can save to Files, mail it, or send it to another app. If the share sheet does not appear at all, the app will say why on screen underneath the buttons. That message is worth sending me.
It should not. A drum part is recognised from a percussion clef in MusicXML or from channel 10 in MIDI, and gets a kit rather than a melodic voice. If a groove sounds melodic, the file may be writing drums on a normal channel — tell me which app exported it.

On your device, and nowhere else. The library holds as many songs as you
make, with rolling backups. Save a copy writes a .ritornello
file you can keep anywhere or send to yourself; Open a file… reads one
back. A song saved by an older version of the app still opens.
It records that you consider the song done, along with anyone you name as a co-writer. It is paperwork, not a lock — and editing anything afterwards clears the marker and tells you it did, rather than leaving a "finished" song quietly changed.
Everything is reachable one-handed, the controls carry labels for VoiceOver, and the form map's colours climb in lightness rather than around a hue wheel so they survive a greyscale print and read for colour-blind users. If something is hard to hit or hard to hear, that is a bug — please tell me.
